President Xi Jinping emphasized that beautiful rural areas should become the hallmark of a modernized powerful country and the foundational color of a beautiful China. To implement the Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of a Beautiful China, the Implementation Opinions on Building Pilot Zones for a Beautiful China, and the national strategy of "Healthy China 2030", and to comprehensively strengthen ecological and environmental protection in agriculture and rural areas, advance the construction of beautiful rural areas, accelerate the development of agri-food processing and storage industries, and achieve comprehensive upgrading of the food industry in production methods, technological innovation, and environmental protection, the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) has approved the convening of the "2025 CAE Academic Symposium on Advancing Beautiful Rural Construction and Accelerating Agri-Food Processing & Storage Industry Development — The 12th International Annual Conference on Food Science" in Changsha, Hunan Province, China, from August 8–10, 2025. The conference will feature one plenary venue and 40 specialized sub-forums, with participation from domestic and international academicians and experts, agri-food processing entrepreneurs, and scholars from universities and research institutes. Key topics include modernization of agri-food processing and storage, high-quality development pathways for the food industry, nutrition and safety assessment and intervention strategies, food science and technology innovation and commercialization, and construction of food safety management systems. This academic symposium aims to stimulate innovative thinking, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and promote a suite of core technologies and products with independent intellectual property rights, thereby providing strong support for the transformation and upgrading of agri-food processing, storage, and the broader food industry, and comprehensively advancing the construction of beautiful rural areas and Healthy China.
