2nd IACGE international symposium

International Association of Chinese Geotechnical Engineers（IACGE）is a non-profit professional organization formed by a group of Chinese geotechnical professionals from the world. IACGE officially represents China Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME) in North America. With the support and guidance from CSRME, IACGE was founded in January 2009 as North American Chinese Geotechnical Engineers Association registered in the United States. Upon requests for participation from Chinese geotechnical professionals from other countries and regions, its official name has been changed to IACGE since 2011. The 1st IACGE international conference was held in May, 2011 in Los Angeles, United States, attended by over 200 professionals among which more than 50 were from the mainland China, including Prof. QIAN Qihu, Chairman of CSRME. It was decided that the 2nd IACGE international symposium is to be held in 2013 in Chengdu, China. The 2nd IACGE international conference will focus on “Challenges and Recent Advances in Geotechnical and Seismic Research and Practice.” We will accept technical papers, and PowerPoint presentation without a paper. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) will publish our conference proceedings with 100 selected and peer-reviewed papers. The ASCE papers must be written in English and meet ASCE paper format. The ASCE papers will be indexed by Engineering Index (EI). Other peer-reviewed Non-ASCE papers will be published in the Journal of Southwest Jiaotong University.
