Introduction
The conference is a venue to present and discuss new research related to global value chains (GVCs) and economic structural adjustments, broadly defined. We welcome any new and creative research on these topics including: Better measure of vertical specialization, value added trade, or a country/sectorˇs position in the global value chains, using firm or industry level data or their combinations; Determinants of evolving segmentations of production across countries The role of the service sectors in GVCs Under-appreciated consequences of GVCs Macroeconomic implications of GVCs GVCs and global financial crises Connections between GVCs and structural adjustments New theory/evidence on industrial policies Corporate governance, country institutions, and their relations with GVCs New understanding of US-China (or North-South) economic relationship in light of GVCs
