Advanced techniques in electron microscopy, in-situ microscopy, and surface microscopy etc. , have been highly needed in materials science and nanotechnology, and biological science. Effort has been spent on finding effective ways to realize new or strengthening existing instrumentation for improving human life in the 21st century. High quality international collaborations are important for exchanging and discussing ideas, for transferring new technologies from research to practice, for providing opportunities for researchers to present the state of the art results. This conference provides a forum to discuss the recent achievement of microscopy in Eastern Asia under the societies of China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.
BACKGROUNDS
Due to the recent and rapid development in microscopy and it’s big impact to materials science, biology, physics, chemistry, geology and related industries in East-Asia regions, strongly required is to enhance the relationships and friendships among the regional scientists. In particular, the close communication and the exchange of the scientific ideas among multiple science branches, and the promotion of young scientists exchanges are intensively desired. The Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Taiwan microscopy societies have decided to hold the East-Asia regional microscopy conference under the auspice of the Committee of Asia-Pacific Societies for Microscopy (CAPSM, a member of the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM)). The first “East-Asia Microscopy Conference” (EAMC-1) is hosted by the Chinese Electron Microscopy Society and will be held in Chongqing, China on 15 -18 of October of 2013.
