14th Congress of the International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport (ISHPES 2014)

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to announce that the forthcoming 14th Congress of the International Society for the History of Physical Education and Sport (ISHPES 2013) will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from the 18th to the 22nd of August 2013. Therefore, we would like to take the present opportunity to invite you to join us. The Congress of ISHPES is a wonderful platform for scholars and students to exchange new research results and theories. During this 5 days congress, we will bring together the experts from all over the world in order to lead lively and interactive debates. Through the communication and the collaboration, we expect to facilitate and enhance the studies of the history of physical education and sport of different countries, races and cultures. Thanks to our renowned speakers’ lectures, we have attracted many participants every year. This year, our aim is to build an ambitious and unique congress surrounding the topic “Games and Sporting Events in History: Organization, Performances and Impacts.” We will address several important issues, including the traditional spirit of festival and sports, the history of traditional folk activities and folk dance, the history of sports and tournaments and the philosophy of games, the history and the spirit of traditional martial arts, and the establishment and management of sports museum.
