Introduction
Studies in multimedia systems opened up possibilities to handle image, video, and/or audio data with more freedom and flexibility. Offering intuitive and more effective multimedia data handling environment especially for non-expert users of computer systems is one of the urgent issue to catch up the progress of rich hardware environment for image/video data. Recent progress of devices such as small high resolution LCD display with tough panel, depth image sensors, and so on, enabled to interact with a system in more intuitive way, and low-power high performance processors enabled to handle video data even for mobile devices such as smart phones. It is clear that the acceptance of a system by general users largely depends on the usability of a system. One of the solutions for this issue is to improve intuitiveness with the aid of image/video data. In this workshop we put more focus on the aspect of interaction with the aid of image/video data for the better usability and more intuitiveness of systems. In this workshop, we would like to discuss not only theoretical issues but also typical applications and environments which focus on better utilization of image/video data.
