Meshless methods belong to one of the most progressively developed part of Computational Mechanics, which is increasingly used in many fields of engineering and sciences. Each day, the number of new results in this field is growing significantly, and therefore there is a natural need to discuss current results and further developments. The First ICCES Special Symposium on Meshless Methods was held successfully in Stara Lesna, Slovakia, Jun 8-10, 2005, the Second in Dubrovnik, Croatia, June 14-16, 2006, and the Third in Patras, Greece, June 15-17, 2007. The Fourth Symposium will continue in the same spirits .
