The 21st ISPE International Conference on Concurrent Engineerin

On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to welcome you to CE2014 in Beijing. It was ten years ago when we first hosted this conference. Since then, the technical area as well as the industry of China have gone through drastic changes, prompting us to host this conference again after a decade. The revolutionary advancement of information and communication technologies has enabled many innovative practices and methodologies in design and development. Product/service lifecycle data can now be collected with much finer granularity and subsequent data-driven services delivered seamlessly through the cloud architecture. Being able to link up with customers and work jointly with shared tools companies are much better equipped and positioned to provide suitable or even personalized products/services. CE2014 aims to bring together leading researchers in the related areas to re-examine current paradigms and to foster in-depth exchange and potential cooperation in integrated product development. We are very grateful for the support from Beijing Jiaotong University, Chinese Academy of Engineering, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and expect a large turnout on this event due to its relevancy in China and the region. By working closely with the ISPE board, we are confident to be able to create a program with not only academic rigor but also cultural richness. We look forward to your contribution and participation in CE2014 and seeing you in Beijing.
