Real-time and embedded systems (RTES) have become a necessity in almost every aspect of our daily live. We find them, for instance, in self-contained applications, in various devices and services such as mobile phones, medication dispensers and home appliances, as well as in heavy industry products like automotive, avionics and nuclear and chemical plants. A large proportion of these systems are mission/life critical and time sensitive and as such they must be developed rigorously to ensure their safety, their reliability and their fault tolerance.
IWRTES 2014 is an international workshop that provides a forum to bring together researchers and developers from academia, industry and government for advancing the science, engineering, and technology of real-time and embedded systems and their emerging applications. The main objectives of IWRTES 2014 are : to investigate advances in embedded and real-time systems and emerging applications; to promote interaction among the areas of embedded computing, real-time computing and system design practice and emerging applications; to evaluate the maturity and directions of embedded and real-time system development.
