Introduction
The 2014 Mathematics and Informatics for Public Health conference will be held at Chern Institute of Mathematics in Tianjin, China, from Wednesday May 7 through Monday May 12, 2014. The goal of the conference The conference is expected to bring together international active researchers and public health experts and decision makers, along with Canada-China collaborative teams and Chinese participants to take a systematic look at the use of mathematical models and bioinformatics tools to inform public health decisions. The conference hopes to foster collaboration among participants and to provide an opportunity for participating Chinese students and junior researchers to see the frontier in the interface of mathematical sciences and public health policy and research. The scope of the conference The conference will cover a wide range of topics in the theory and applications of effective and cutting-edge mathematical technologies and bioinformatics tools for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, with special focus on those of current interest to the Canada-China collaboration and to the international community.
