First Henan Symposium on Development and Institutional Economics

We are pleased to announce that the inaugural Henan Symposium on Development and Institutional Economics will be held on June 28-July 1, 2014, in Kaifeng, Henan Province, China. The School of Economics of Henan University will host the symposium. The organizers of the symposium welcome your submission in the areas of economic development broadly defined to include international trade and finance, economic history, and institutional economics. Kaifeng is noted as an ancient capital of China, with an history tracing back to 346 BC as the capital of Wei kingdom. By Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127), the city was the capital of the country with over one million residents. Kaifeng is now a modern, growing city within one hour driving from the airport of the city of Zhengzhou, the new capital of Henan Province. The symposium’s confirmed keynote speaker is Philip Hoffman (Cal Tech).
