Introduction

Smart computing is emerging as an important multidisciplinary area, which effectively makes use of computer hardware, software, and communication networks together with digital sensors, smart devices, internet technologies, big data analytics, computational intelligence and intelligent systems to realize various innovative applications. Smart computing based on mobile devices is an especially interesting research filed, which involves networks, systems, algorithms, and applications that support mobile computers and wireless networks with smart design. This workshop intends to bring together researchers in the area of mobile computing and wireless networking to share new ideas/experiences on smart computing, including pervasive/ubiquitous computing, mobile cloud computing, internet of things, mobile security and privacy, mobile social computing, cyber-physical systems, etc. SCTAM2014 welcomes submissions from both researchers and practitioners from academia and industry that explore challenges and advances in technologies and applications related to smart computing.
