The 2015 GRC on Chemical Reactions at Surfaces

The 2015 GRC on Chemical Reactions at Surfaces will be held in Ventura, California, during February 8-13, 2015. It will bring together an interdisciplinary group of world-recognized experts and young researchers from chemistry, physics, chemical engineering and materials science. The meeting addresses fundamental aspects of surface chemical reactions, which are related to the grand challenges facing mankind. They range from environmental interfaces, solar energy conversion to chemical energy storage and CO2 capture. Specific emphasis will be given to bridge the gap from model studies to complex real world systems, by discussing present and future challenges in experimental and theoretical investigations. After a very successful 2013 meeting, for the first time in Europe, the goal is to again attract many high caliber scientists and young researchers from Europe and other continents in addition to the traditionally high participation from the US. We seek an equal representation of speakers from the US and non-US countries. Funds supporting the conference will be used to assist participants, especially young scientists who otherwise would be unable to attend: junior faculty members, postdoctoral fellows and advanced graduate students. Participation by young researchers will add significant value to this conference and will foster communications among current and future leaders in a field that combines academic and industrial issues.
