On behalf of CSM , TMS and IMR and the CDSM 2015 Organizing Committee, it is our privilege to invite you to the 1st International Conference on Computational Design and Simulation of Materials (CDSM 2015), August 17-20, 2015, at IMR, Shenyang, Liaoning, China! We are honored to host this event, and look forward to welcoming our friends and colleagues from around the world. Currently, as one of the most important advances in materials science, Computational Materials Science has become a fundamental base of materials investigations. Computational simulations now stand alongside theory and experimentation as the third pillar of the scientific exploration process, accelerating both materials discovery and design. Powerful computational methods provide an in-depth understanding of experimental findings and guide further experimental work. Modeling and computation promise possible solutions, even breakthroughs, for exploring new materials and advanced technology in the near future. Through the achieved agreement between the Chinese Society of Metals (CSM) and the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), the Institute of Metal Research (IMR), Chinese Academy of Sciences is hosting this upcoming CDSM 2015. It will bring together leading scientists of computational materials working on the state-of-the-art developments and forefront of materials sciences and engineering to exchange idea, to stimulate discussion, to communicate latest progresses and even to outline future directions.
