Introduction

On behalf of the organising committee we are pleased to invite you to the 15th Bathurst Meeting of Carbonate Sedimentologists, which will be held from the 13th - 16th July, 2015, at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. We continue the tradition of the 4-yearly informal meetings of carbonate workers begun in 1959 by Robin Bathurst in Liverpool. These meetings are distinguished by their focus on new ideas at the forefront of our science, presented in a relaxed and non-hierarchical structure that stimulates and actively promotes open discussion.
