2016 14th International Workshop on Variable Structure Systems (VSS 2016)

VSS 2016 is the 14th gathering of the Variable Structure and Sliding Mode Control community around the globe. This Workshop series started in March 1990 in Sarajevo, Bosnia. The subsequent conferences were held in Sheffield, UK in 1992, Benevento, Italy in 1994, Tokyo, Japan in 1996, Sarasota, USA in 1998,  Gold Coast, Australia in 2000, Sarajevo, Bosnia in 2002, Vilanova, Spain in 2004, Alghero, Italy in 2006, Antalya, Turkey in 2008, Mexico City, Mexico in 2010, Bombay, India in 2012, and Nantes, France in 2014. Over the last 25 years, the VSS Workshop has become the premier conference in Variable Structure and Sliding Mode Control (VSSMC) in the world.

Over the last two decades, China has become an important contributor to VSSMC research. We are delighted to host the 14th edition of the conference for the first time in China to recognize the important role of China in VSSMC research, and more importantly, to examine the state-of-art in VSSMC and identify future directions perceived as being important in the years to come. We aim to build exciting technical and social programs for our participants and their families to enjoy not only each other's company and idea exchanges, but also the splendid ancient city and her heritage and friendly people.
