Microbiology and the Environment

We are pleased to announce the Cold Spring Harbor Asia conference on Microbiology and the Environment which will be held in Suzhou, China, located approximately 60 miles west of Shanghai. The conference will begin at 7:00pm on the evening of Monday September 26, and will conclude after lunch on September 30, 2016.

The conference will include eight oral sessions and one poster session covering the latest findings across many topics in Microbial Biology. Many talks will be selected from the openly submitted abstracts on the basis of scientific merit and relevance. Social events throughout the conference provide ample opportunity for informal interactions.

It has been a major theme in biology to fill the uncharted chapters of microbial life and to unveil their working mechanisms. In recent years, new technologies such as metagenomic tools and have powered this human endeavor to comprehend the vastness of biology's boundaries and to appreciate their role in human health. In this conference, we review the new frontiers of microbial discovery and the latest enabling technologies.
