Introduction

Thank you for your interest in the 8th Annual IEEE Energy Conversion Congress & Exposition (ECCE 2016) to be held September 18-22 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, the heartland of the North America’s electric drive and electrical equipment industry.

ECCE is the world’s leading technical conference and exposition for energy conversion solutions: solutions that are innovative and practical, customer focused and cost effective. Over 1500 engineers, researchers, students, and other professionals from the broad spectrum of energy conversion, come to ECCE year after year to stay abreast of the research and tap into the concentrated brain trust assembled at our conference. ECCE is unique in our emphasis on integrated systems, presenting the best in contemporary energy conversion research alongside innovations from more traditional component topics. This year we have received a record number of digest submissions (10.7% over the previous record), an early indication of a larger than ever conference this year.

ECCE will offer keynote speeches, tutorials, oral and poster technical sessions, special/industrial sessions, industry expositions, town hall meetings and student activities. Our plenary speakers will include Prof. Arun Majumdar from Stanford University and former Director of ARPA-E, Mr. Blake Moret, Senior Vice President of Rockwell Automation, and a few other prominent leaders from academia and industry. We are very pleased to announce that Rockwell Automation, Eaton Corporation, General Motors, Danfoss, ABB, and Wolong Electric have pledged their support for the conference, creating an even stronger industrial relationship and relevance.

We welcome you to participate in ECCE2016 as a presenter, an attendee, an exhibitor, a sponsor, a volunteer, or any combined role of the above. Together we help to deliver a more sustainable future.
