Introduction

The 2nd International Symposium on Interval Data Modelling: Theory and Applications (SIDM2016) will take place on July 2-3, 2016 in theWang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics, Xiamen University, Xiamen, China.

This symposium is jointly organized by the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science (AMSS), ChineseAcademy of Sciences (CAS), and Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE), Xiamen University.

Confirmed Keynote Speakers

  • Javier Arroyo, Universidad Complutensede Madrid
  • Amos Golan, American University Washington, DC
  • Gloria Gonzalez-Rivera, University of California Riverside
  • Chenyi Hu, University of Central Arkansas, USA

  • Eufrásio de Andrade Lima Neto, Federal University of Paraiba
  • Aman Ullah, University of California, Riverside

Aims

The purpose of the Symposium is to stimulate international dialog among academics and practitioners with mutual interests in interval data modelling.Interval data,or more generally symbolic data, are of increasingly available in practice. Major developments of solutions to modelling interval data includeinterval time series models, symbolicdata analysis, fuzzyset and random set, imprecise probabilities and differential data models. This interdisciplinary symposium will cover all oninterval data modelling and related fieldsand is thus relevant for a broad audience.
