I International Apple Symposium

The apple tree (Malus domestica) is a deciduous tree in the Rosaceae family, best known for its fruit, the apple, the world's second largest fruit. To further promote the international academic exchange on apple study and the development of the global apple industry, the 1st International Apple Symposium will be held on October 10-16, 2016, at Yangling, Shaanxi province, China. This symposium is sponsored by the International Society for Horticultural Science and the Chinese Society for Horticultural Science, organized by Northwest A&F University, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Shaanxi Provincial Government, and co-organized by China Agricultural University, Shandong Agricultural University, Yan'an Municipal Government, and the Apple Collaborative Innovation Center of Beijing. This symposium focuses on five subjects of apple industry, germplasm resources, breeding, cultivation, processing and storage, nutrition and health, as well as market economy. Experts and scientists from China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and other countries are invited to attend the symposium. The Symposium Committees welcome all scientists and students interested in apple study to attend the symposium.
