Introduction

With the development of society, the human society has come into a stage where unexpected events occur frequently, such as climate change, emerging infectious diseases, terrorism, nuclear proliferation, natural and man-made disasters etc. These events challenge the health, security and sustainable growth of our society, and often find us unprepared for the catastrophic outcomes. Social computing emerges and attracts a lot of attentions due to dramatically-developed online social networks, more powerful smart devices and tablet computers, and as well as provides a powerful advancing analytics and tools for collaborative intelligence in healthcare and biomedical research.

The 2nd International Workshop on Social Computing in Health Informatics will be a forum for scientists, researchers, students, and practitioners to present their latest research results, ideas, developments, and applications in the areas of big data and social networking in health informatics. We are mainly interested in receiving state of the art work on different aspect of health based big data management system, big data security and privacy, cloud computing and big data, social networking and big data analytics, and social networking management and security, to mention but few.

Submission Topics

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: social computing for social policies and public health, social media analytics and media intelligence, trust, security, privacy and risk issues in public health, virus propagation, and application or industrial experience in health informatics.
