Introduction

You are invited to participate in World Haptics to be held in Fürstenfeldbruck (Munich), Germany, June 6-9, 2017.

Haptic devices enable human-machine interaction through the senses of force and touch. In recent years, the haptics research domain has grown exponentially, involving researchers spanning widely from psychophysics, via engineering, to design.

IEEE World Haptics is the premier international conference addressing all aspects related to haptics, covering the basic scientific underpinnings, technological developments, and algorithms and applications. It is a central venue for reporting research results and demonstrating novel capabilities in the field of haptics.

There are many ways to participate in the conference including the submission of full-length technical papers, late-breaking work-in-progress papers, and demonstrations; participation in workshops and tutorials; and exhibition of commercial offerings. Corporations are also encouraged to consider sponsorship opportunities as a means of both supporting this dynamic community and maintaining visibility within it.

The World Haptics 2017 venue is a former Cistercian monastery complex where a special atmosphere is created by the combination of historical buildings and modern architecture. It is located within the range of Munich city public transport.

We hope to see you in Fürstenfeldbruck (Munich)!
