The International Contaminated Site Remediation Conference, known as ‘CleanUp’, is held in Australia every alternate year. It is hosted by the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE), which leads Australian research into the prevention, assessment and clean-up of environmental contamination. The latest event, held in Melbourne in September 2015, attracted almost 700 delegates from more than 20 countries.
The 1st CleanUp Conference of China will be held in Beijing, China, from 25 to 28 October 2016 to promote the governance and remediation of contaminated brownfield sites in China. This conference is jointly organised by the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), the Chinese Ecological Restoration Network (ER-CHINA), CRC CARE, and the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation of the University of Newcastle (Australia).
The conference is focused on the ‘Brownfield Contamination and Environmental Remediation in China’. It will include a one-day pre-conference training workshop on 25October. The Plenary presentations will be held on 26October, followed by special sessions on 27October, and post-conference tours on 28October.
Local and international brownfield contamination and remediation experts, along with managers from environment protection/regulatory agencies and leading business representatives, are invited to Beijing to discuss issues relating to the remediation of brownfield sites. We encourage your participation in this exciting and important event.
