Introduction

The 8th Advanced Doctoral Conference on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems (DoCEIS’17) will reflect the growing interests in research development and application of Smart Systems. Rapid evolution in Smart Sensors, Actuators, and Embedded Intelligence Technology and its seamless integration into multiple System Architecture and Platforms has revolutionized the technological world, and even the way we live, since the last decade. The pervasive nature of this technology has enabled rapid permeation into all facets and levels of engineering disciplines and has earned immense attention and focus within the academic circles and research communities worldwide. Smart Systems are undeniably, the technology of the future, with unparalleled possibilities, hence the need to further explore and exploit its prospects.

DoCEIS’17 therefore seeks to present an international and professional platform where Doctorial Students, Researchers and Academicians whose scope of work entails the design, application and adaptation of Smart Systems in relation to Collaborative Systems, Sensing Technologies, Computer Networks, IoT/CPS, Industrial Systems, Energy Grid, Smart Objects and General Management of all aspects of Technology, that focus on Smart Systems, can meet to merge ideas.
