SMC 2016 Special Session on Big Data Analytics in Industrial Integration

According to Siemens, industrial integration brings together the virtual and real worlds, taking a holistic view of the entire product development and production process that enhances efficient production in each process step–from product design to production planning, engineering, production execution and up to services.Industry Information Integration Engineering(IIIE), as a scientific sub-discipline, is a set of concepts and techniques that facilitate the industrial integration process. As an interdisciplinary discipline, IIIE interacts with scientific disciplines such asmathematics, computer science, and almost every engineering disciplineamong the twelve engineering disciplines defined by the US National Academy ofEngineering. Big Data has fundamentally changed the ways in which data are collected, processed, and analyzed in large scale industrial integration. This special session calls for innovative research on big data in industrial integration.
