This special session solicits contributions on applications, methods and systems for robots that are built for and that operate in rugged terrain. The scope of this special session includes research work on solutions for basic problems of field robots such as terrain classification, object detection and tracking or navigation as well as localisation in the wild. Papers on applications of rugged-terrain robots and systems are also welcomed. Application areas of interest range from urban search and rescue over agricultural to mining robots.
