Women in Data Science and Engineering Workshop

While female researchers represent ~30% of those in data science and engineering roles, there is still a significant shortage especially from the minority communities. We need female role models in the field so that undergraduate and graduate’s students see a career path. We also need to train students in high school to develop an interest in data analytics to ensure a diverse and plentiful workforce pipeline.

The workshop will begin with a keynote, followed by presentations from selected papers (a mixture of technical topics as well as topics on broadening participation of women in data science and engineering) and will end with a motivational panel discussion.
