Cognition refers to a faculty for the processing of information, applying knowledge, and changing preferences. The significance of cognition research in management science is indicated by the increase in articles on cognition in the major management journals as well as the creation of Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division, in the major professional association of management scholars, The Academy of Management. This increased interest in cognitive phenomena might have been influenced by research in other fields such as psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science, anthropology, and biology.
This workshop aims to bring together researchers with an interest in leveraging cognition science for improving judgment and decision in construction engineering management (CEM).
