5th International Conference on Environmental Research and Technology

Based on the success of ICERT 2015, School of Industrial Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia is pleased to organise 5th International Conference on Environmental Research and Technology (ICERT 2017) on 23rd - 25th  August 2017 at Jen Hotel, in the city of George Town, Penang, Malaysia.

This fifth International Conference on Environmental Research and Technology (ICERT 2017) aims to continue and expand the level of dialogue of the first, second, third and fourth conference. This conference seeks to connect-the-dots between scientific research and its application to assist in achieving the elusive solution of a healthy and sustainable environment. Given the complexity of the problem, such as the problem of waste management and depletion of essential resources, it is expected that the solution would require a higher level of thinking that can only be obtained from the contribution and collaboration of different disciplines. Thus, it is also the intention of this conference to bring the best ideas and inspirations from diverse fields together to assist in unraveling the puzzle of environmental sustainability and well being. This conference provides a constructive forum for interaction and exchanging research ideas or experiences among engineers, technologists, academicians, technical executives and entrepreneurs of various disciplines from academic institutions, industry and organisation in the related fields. The theme of this conference is "Synergising Environmental Science Research & Technology for A Sustainable Future". The deadline for submitting abstracts is 31st January 2017.

All accepted papers will be published as conference proceedings. Extended selected papers will be published in the SCOPUS indexed journals (Malaysian Journal of Microbiology, Journal of Physical Science and International Journal of Environment and Waste Management) and the remaining papers will be published in Iranica Journal of Energy and Environment and Journal of Industrial Research and Technology.
