The Gordon Research Seminar on Cartilage Biology & Pathology

The 2017 Gordon Research Seminar on Cartilage Biology and Pathology is a trainee organized and run conference for early investigators (graduate students, post-docs) to have the opportunity to present and discuss their research in an open and unintimidating style of meeting. The collegial atmosphere and opportunities for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings will promote brainstorming around fundamental cartilage knowledge as well as new and exciting avenues for future high impact research. This two-day seminar will highlight new and groundbreaking work done from young investigators around the world including Germany, England, France, Israel, China, Japan, Australia, Canada, United States and many others. 

This meeting will focus on not only the understanding of cartilage formation and function that are critical for the development, mobility, and overall human health, but will also discuss potential therapeutic advances for cartilage maintenance and repair. Substantial advancements have been made in understanding human diseases that affect cartilage function such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and a growing number of genetic diseases of joints and cartilage. This meeting will help address these important morbidities, discuss the future of cartilage research and help establish long-term international collaborations to help cure joint disease.
