Introduction

Millimeter wave spectrum and the associated technologies are set to play a key role in the evolving 5G landscape. The completion of the 3GPP above 6GHz channel model, FCC’s identification of 28 GHz and 37-39 GHz bands for licensed use, EC naming a European 5G pioneer band at 26 GHz are some of the major developments in the past year, amidst a large number of millimeter wave field trials reported by vendors and operators. Within this backdrop of rapid developments, the mmW5G workshop opens up an opportunity for the wireless professionals to capture the state-of-the-art in this essential 5G technology. The workshop is organized and technically supported by the mmMAGIC project, the EU funded flagship project on 5G millimeter wave.
This workshop will bring together leading names in industry, academia and research institutes to present, discuss and debate the latest developments. The program will include two keynotes by leading academics in the millimeter wave research domain, a panel session with the participation of key personalities from all major regions and two oral paper presentation sessions.
