Introduction

Sponsored by the Services Society and the Technical Committee on Services Computing (TC-SVC), IEEE Computer Society
Cognitive Computing is an emerging technical field that combines computing and cognitive science to develop computational approaches, algorithms, and systems that operate effectively like human partners in real-world settings. Service Computing incorporates science, technology, and business for transforming goods into services and for modernizing traditional services into digital services ecosystems, focusing on the application of computing technologies to create value from interactions among multiple stakeholders in real-world settings. Focusing on complex sensing-centered service systems, the IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Computing (ICCC 2017) aims to combine cognitive science with service computing by combining the technical aspects of human-like computing with the business aspects of value-creation through service innovation lifecycle.
IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Computing (ICCC 2017), part of the Services Conference Federation (SCF 2017), combines technical aspects of cognitive computing with service computing, focusing on all of cognition, computation, and business to understand and engineer effective value-creation. in more detail, ICCC aims to cover all acts or processes of knowing, perceiving, judging, reasoning, and associating based on computing platforms and algorithms. In short, ICCC calls the entire services computing community to work toward realizing "Sensing Intelligence as a Service".
