Aiming at the problem of unreasonable setting of action characteristic circle in Electrode line impedance supervision (ELIS), a new method based on support vector data description (SVDD) to reasonably set action characteristic circle is proposed, which can realize high-precision fault diagnosis of ground electrode line. Through the analysis of impedance characteristics of ground electrode line during normal operation, the characteristic that the radius of the action characteristic circle change with the length of the electrode line has been proved. The normal operating impedance considering the error of line parameters is taken as training sample, the trained SVDD model contains the optimal action characteristic circle. The simulation results show that the proposed method can obtain the optimal action characteristic circle through optimal calculation, and the accuracy of the proposed method for fault diagnosis of ground electrode line is significantly higher than that of ELIS.
