Study on Setting Value of Phase Selection and Switching Device in Converter Station

This paper analyses the cause of the voltage distortion of 500 kV AC bus at the moment when the AC filter is put into operation in +500 kV converter station, which causes the instantaneous drop of bipolar DC voltage.This paper also studies the matching problem between the operational characteristic of circuit breaker and the setting value of phase selection and switching device, and gives some suggestions for setting value of phase selector in order to prevent the occurrence of similar incidents.
