Abstract
Abstract—For an active distribution network (ADN) with multiple photovoltaics (PV), the fault current characteristics are investigated with the following three contributions: (1) ADN topologies with multiple PVs in specialized line grid-integration and non specialized line grid-integration are established; (2) The fault current characteristics are analyzed under various fault locations and various penetration degree of PVs. Then the advantages and disadvantages of different PV interconnected methods is analyzed; (3) An ADN with multiple PVs is established on the time domain simulation environment PSCAD/EMTDC to verify the fault current characteristics. Comparative studies of the fault current characteristics are conducted between ADN with PVs grid-integration forms. Simulation results justify the correctness of theoretical analysis and attain the optimal PV interconnection method.
