Abstract
Based on the ten years’ smart grid development and operating experience in China, this paper discussed the characteristics of the modern power system, and summarized the problems of the smart substation in china. At last, this paper discussed the techniques of optimization for the protection and control system from three aspects, which are the new designs based on new concepts, the network architecture and the substation information application.
