In this research, an industrial waste material-granite fine (GF) has been used to replace silica sand (SS) with ratios 50% and 100% to develop sustainable ECC. Mechanical properties (compressive strength and tensile strength) tests were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of GF in ECC. It turned out that the tensile performance was significantly improved. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to analyze the morphology and microstructure of hydration products. An enhancement of strain-hardening performance by the incorporation of GF is indicated in the results. As the consequence, GF could be used as the fine filler in ECC to replace SS to improve the performance and reduce the detrimental environmental impact due to waste disposal.
