Introduction

IEEE-RAS Humanoids 2014 conference will be held in Madrid, Spain, during November 18-20th, 2014. It will follow the previous ones in Atlanta, USA (2013) and Osaka, Japan (2012). The conference theme “Humans and Robots Face-to-Face” confirms the growing interest in the field of human-humanoid interaction and cooperation, especially during daily life activities in real environments. The conference’s new scopes will help focus on the next generation of humanoids. While Madrid, founded in the 9th century, possesses a modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of its historic neighbourhoods and streets. Madrid’s museum triangle makes it unique for world cultural heritage. It is the 10th most livable city in the world according to the 2010 Monocle index. The venue will be the Hotel Melia located in the city center with excellent access.
