Introduction
The annual international conference on non-perturbative /background independent quantum gravity will take place from 2 to 7 August 2009 at Beijing Normal University in China. It stands in the tradition of Loops '04 in Marseille, Loops '05 in Potsdam and Loops '07 in Morelia, but is more concentrated on the issues and approaches closely related to loop quantum gravity.
