ITME 2016 is the 8th International Conference on Information Technology in Medicine and Education, and will be held on December 23-25, 2016, in Fuzhou, China. ITME 2016 is the next event in a series of highly successful the International conference on IT in Medicine and Education, ITME-15 (Huangshan, China, November 2015), ITME-14 (Jeju, Korea, July 2014), ITME-13 (Xining, China, July 2013), ITME-12 (Hokkaido, Japan, August 2012), ITME-11 (Guangzhou, China, December 2011), ITME-09 (Jinan, China, August 2009), ITME-08 (Xiamen, China, December 2008).

The conference this year is technically Co-Sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, and Sponsored by Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), University of Technology Sydney, Iwate Prefectural University, Shandong Normal University, Xiamen University, China Jiliang University, Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology, and Co-Sponsored by Lanzhou University, Henan University of Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, East China Normal University, Birmingham City University, University of Southern Queensland.

We invite submissions of papers presenting a high-quality original research and development for the conference tracks. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceeding by IEEE Computer Society, and will be submitted to IEEE Xplore & EI Database. At least one of the authors of any accepted paper is requested to register and present the paper at the conference. Extended versions of selected excellent papers will be considered for fast-track publication in Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing (Elsevier, SCI, IF=1.32).
