Introduction

The aim of this second Workshop on Electrical Machines Design, Control and Diagnosis (WEMDCD) is to give an insight into emerging new techniques related to electrical machines design, control and diagnosis. Despite the long-standing market place of industrial electrical machines, they are still key components for modern systems using, producing or transforming electricity. Nowadays, they are associated with innovation and they are under major focus in both industry and academia for modern applications to save energy and/or to reduce pollution. There will be a significant number of invited contributions from researchers working in academia and in R&D centers from industry. This will be completed by regular submissions related, but not limited, to the following topics: Electrical Machines Design - Switched Reluctance Machines, Induction Machines, Permanent Magnet, Synchronous Machines, High Speed Machines, Synchronous Reluctance Machines, Turbogenerators, Fractional Slot Machines, Universal Motors, Actuators Electrical Machines Control - Advanced Control Techniques, Vector Control, Direct Torque Control, Multiphase Machines, Fault-Tolerant Permanent Magnet Machines, Fault-Tolerant Induction Machines, Sensorless Induction Machine Drives, Sensorless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Drives Electrical Machines Diagnosis - Digital Signal Processing Techniques for Diagnosis, Fault Diagnosis by Stray, Flux Analysis, Diagnosis of Rolling Elements, Bearings Faults, Diagnosis of Rotor Faults, Diagnosis of Eccentricity, Diagnostic Techniques in Non-Stationary Conditions, Power Supply Failures, Diagnosis of Stator Faults, Fault Diagnosis by Space Vector Analysis
